  • Rugby @ Anahilt

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

Over the past few weeks in school we have been training in preparation for the "Lisburn Area Tag rugby festival." Mr Mathers,  a P6 parent,  led the coaching taking sessions after school and in the evenings here in school. With more practice at lunchtime, we felt we were as ready as we could be to compete. On Wednesday we headed off to Laurelhill SportsZone to play in the competition with Mrs Irvine in charge of the squad. We played 5 matches, winning 2 and losing 3. The team played really well and I was delighted with their attitiude and determination. This year was about getting back out and getting involved but I am sure we will see some great improvements next year. Well done everyone !

  • Jubilee Day

    Wed 01 Jun 2022

Today we celebrated Jubilee Day in school. All the pupils ( and staff ) dressed in our finery and attended our very own garden party. Some of us partied on our grass pitch whilst the P6/7 went next door to Anahilt Care home for afternoon tea. They had lunch beside the residents and then played some games on the front lawn. The whole school then did a processsion through the grounds so that all the outfits could be admired by our neighbours.

The photo on the home page shows some of the pupils receiving their free commemorative book to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

The book tells the story of a young girl, Isabella, visiting her Great Granny Joyce who tells her about the Queen and this year’s Jubilee.

More pics of the event will follow both here and on the class pages.
