This year the PTA have continued to work very hard to raise much needed funds for our school. The current target is to improve our ICT suite and I'm pleased to announce that a recent funding application to the Big Lottery has been successful. Just under £10000 will be used to purchase 16 new laptops. A great achievement. The PTA continue to run their annual events and activities and the next big event to further fund our ICT suite improvements will be the meal on Saturday 25 April at the Larchfield Estate.
Our P1 pupils try out our new outdoor classroom for the first time. This fantastic resource has been funded by a DAERA Rural Micro Capital Grant and we are very grateful to our PTA for applying for the funding. We also want to thank those members who gave up their time over the half-term break to install the outdoor classroom. A huge thank you to everyone who has made this project a success. Staff and pupils are really looking forward to making good use of this resource especially as the weather starts to improve.
Congratulations to our Road Safety Quiz team who performed so well this week in the Lisburn and Castlereagh round of the NI Road Safety Quiz competition. Seventeen teams in total competed for one of two places in the NI finals. Our pupils put in a tremendous effort and finished in second place and will now represent our school in the NI Finals in March. Well done.
