  • Rugby Festival

    Fri 24 Apr 2026

This week, the Anahilt Primary School rugby team took part in their first tournament of the year in Banbridge, and what a day it was! The boys played six matches with no substitutions, giving it absolutely everything from the first whistle to the last. By the end of the day they were well and truly out on their feet, but their determination, teamwork and attitude never wavered. They performed brilliantly throughout the tournament and showed great resilience against strong opposition.

The hard work paid off, with the team finishing the day with a well‑earned win. This was a fantastic result that will certainly have them eager to get back out competing again.

A huge thank you to Mr Shields for his commitment and support, to the boys for their outstanding effort, and to all the parents who helped with lifts on the day. Without your help, we simply wouldn’t be able to give the pupils these valuable sporting opportunities.

Well done, boys. We are very proud of you!

  • Environmental Youth Speak - 2nd place !!

    Fri 13 Mar 2026

Very well done to Madana and Ava from P7 who attained 2nd place (out of 10) in the Environmental Youth Speak Competition, which was held at the Civic Centre in Lisburn this week.

The girls had 6 weeks to research and deliver an inspiring talk on “How to be a Binfluencer.”

The duo act worked hard to perfect their platform manner, presence and the overall impact of their presentation. Their voice projection, delivery and content were of a very high standard and they clearly impressed the judging panel.

They received £30 each as a prize and were ‘treated’ to breakfast, lunch and some recyclable merchandise.

    Congratulations! #2nd Place 🙂

Our P7 Road Safety Team came 1st in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area heat recently which secured them a place in the finals last night in Cookstown. 210 primary schools entered the competition and 22 teams made it through to the final.

We are pleased to announce that our team came 2nd! Each child was presented with a large silver medal and the team received a shield. 2nd place was an AMAZING result and staff and pupils are delighted.

The team have revised very hard over the last 6 weeks and they know the Highway Code and road signs “inside out!”
